Unveiling Islam on Campus
وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًۭا مِّمَّن دَعَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ ٣٣

What is DIW?
Discover Islam Week (DIW) serves as the inclusive platform for the annual campaigns coordinated by Islamic Societies across the UK. These endeavors are designed to educate, promote and transmit the tenets of Islam to individuals of all faiths, encompassing both Muslims and non-Muslims. Here at Southampton, our objective is to highlight the fundamental messages and teachings of Islam, encouraging active participation within our campus community throughout this dedicated week.
What Happens During DIW
At its core, Discover Islam Week revolves around Tarbiyyah and Da’wah. As a result, we launch endeavors with the goal of enlightening our campus community and inviting others to embrace the message of Islam. Throughout this period, our campus engagement takes an active form, including hosting Da’wah stalls at Redbrick, sharing literature, and inviting accomplished Islamic experts to share their insights. By uniting the ummah on campus, the vibes are like none other.
Da'wah Training
Da’wah, in essence, was the call of all the Prophets and Messengers to worship Allāh ﷻ alone and the act of calling people to the ultimate and only truth, Islam. Giving Da’wah is a responsibility on all of us and does not require you to be a profound expert on all aspects of Islam; however, having clear and correct knowledge on core elements is key for having the confidence to give Da’wah. In the upcoming year, the ISOC is arranging a Da'wah Training Workshop, designed for both committee members and volunteers. This workshop aims to equip attendees with the skills to deliver impactful and purposeful Da’wah. Stay tuned to our social media platforms for more information!
