President
Ibrahim Ishaq
Assalamu Alaikum(peace be upon you), I am a 3rd year Civil Engr student. Its really an honor to be serving and supporting you guys in every opportunity I can get and hopefully we will make this year as fruitful as possible. The ISOC has been my hub since the first time I got in the campus prayer room, where you meet a lot of personalities and make lifetime friendships. So I would advice that you should do the same and try and be involved as much as you can, as there is a range of opportunities for everyone at any level to take advantage of, and that being said, I can't wait meet everyone for this new academic year especially the new faces. I pray that your time at Uni will be a productive one, both academically and Islamically. Signing off with........'Look at me!!, I'm the captain now'

VP-Brothers
Alexander LinfieldAssalamu alaikum, my name is Alex, I’m currently in my 4th year studying medicine and Alhamdulillah I will be the brother’s Vice President this year. Southampton Isoc has played an important role for me in my time at university, being a place to meet new people, be part of a friendly community and also helped me to develop my knowledge and love of Islam. If I was to give one piece of advice to a fresher it would be to make the most of the tarbiyah classes the Isoc holds as this will not only help you improve your relationship with Allah, but also allow you to meet likeminded brothers or sisters. Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with anyone from the committee if you have any questions or feedback about the Isoc and I hope you enjoy and make the most of your time at university. |

Content Creator
Olaa Abdelmonim
Assalamu alaikum, my name is Olaa and I’m a 3rd year medical student. InshaAllah I will be ISOC’s social media content creator this year! With all the pressure of moving out, starting higher education and making new friends, we understand that it can be hard to focus on your faith at university. Getting involved with ISOC, is a great way to strengthen your Iman, increase your Islamic knowledge and build a support system. We have a range of events throughout the year including regular tarbiyah lessons, sports, socials and charity events! My top tips for you are to join ISOC group chats to stay up to date, and make our Highfield prayer room your second home!
Social Media Manager
Marya Fayeq
Assalamu’alaikum! My name is Marya and I am a 2nd year pharmacology student. First of all, congratulations on getting accepted into Southampton university! May Allah (SWT) make it easy for you all. ISOC is an amazing opportunity for us to deepen our understanding of our religion, help out the local community by getting involved in projects and if you are as lucky as I am, making lifetime friends. The ISOC Freshers week was an incredible kickstart to my university experience and allowed me to connect with so many other Muslims. Throughout the year it has helped me grow in my religion and develop as an individual. Now this year, as your social media manager, I aim to give you all the same, if not, a better experience. I look forward to meeting you all and I hope to see many of the new and old faces get involved with ISOC!

Brother's Tarbiyah Officer
Moaad BouyardanAssalaamu Alaikum. My name’s Moaad and I’m a 3rd year medical student. Welcome to Southampton University! As you embark on your academic journey here, my advice to you is to immediately establish, and maintain a connection with the prayer room. Try to attend as many congregational prayers and sign up for the tarbiyah classes being offered (Quran, tafsir & Arabic). The prayer room is more than just for prayer, it’s also the ISOC’s social hub, a meeting place for Muslims, where you will meet like-minded people and cultivate lifelong friendships. In shaa’ Allah, you will always find people willing to offer you their advice and support. Understand that university is more than just an academic journey, it’s also more-importantly a self-development journey. You will no doubt be faced with trials, so ensure that you immerse yourself within the Islamic environment the brothers and sisters have created here and in Shaa’ Allah, you’ll leave as a more mature, educated and God-fearing individual, and look back at some of the best years of your life. |
Sister's Tarbiyah Officer
GulshanaAssalamu alaikum everyone! My name is Gulshana and I’m a second year Law student. I am also the sisters tarbiyah officer for this academic year insha’allah. For me, the ISOC freshers week was the first place I made some of my closest friends here at university, whilst also strengthening my faith. Insha’allah you too will share this experience. The ISOC team has a lot lined up for you this year, from fun social activities to Qur’an halaqas and so much more, so please do stay updated on our socials for updates. I can’t wait to meet you all insha’allah! 🙂 |

The people you surround yourself with and the friendships you form can have a huge impact on your journey, both in this world and the next. Brother's Sports Officer
Abdul AzizAsalamu Allaikum, brothers and sisters. This year I’m honoured to be part of the ISOC committee and to be able to help ease you guys into uni life. I’m excited to see new faces and welcome everyone to our family. ISOC has been a big blessing for me as I was able to meet fellow Muslims and form my own friendships . It’s also provided me a platform to develop as both a person and a Muslim. Our role as a committee is to give you guys the same opportunities and warm welcoming that we were once given. You’ll soon realise that any one of you could be part of this team and can get involved as much as you like. I look forward to meeting you guys and hope you’re open to giving ISOC a chance. |
