Thanks to the generous donations we receive, we host free Iftars every day during the holy month of Ramadhan! These Iftars are the backbone of the ISOC community in Southampton, providing a space for everyone to come together and share a meal each night. This a brilliant opportunity to bond with each other and not have to cook after a long day fasting, and to many members, this is their favourite time of the year.
Of course, during Ramadhan, the focus is making the most of this divine month. We need to take advantage and aim to reap as many rewards as we can. As such you will find the prayer room a great place to pick up a Qur'an, both during the during the days and nights. As well as this, we also have our own Taraweeh prayers!
This incredible initiative relies entirely on donations, so we would greatly appreciate any contribution you could make! We expect around 90-120 students to break the fast with us every night!

The Prophet (SAW) said
"Whoever gives iftar to a fasting person will have a reward like his, without that detracting from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest”

The prayer room is a wonderful place where students collaborate to pray and break theirs fasts. Ultimately, our musallah is a refuge for the muslim university student. From the welcoming sister and brothers you meet to the lovely recitations we have during Ramadan. Every aspect of our musallah really makes us feel at home and beings the spirit of ramadan alive.

Nothing makes me prouder than how our isoc promotes brotherhood and unity during Ramadhan Masha Allah. It always swells me up with joy to describe to the Freshers exactly what Ramadhan is like at the University of Southampton. Truly a beautiful experience

Ramadan at university can seem very daunting at first, being away from family and also the fact it's been in and around exam season for the past few years. Rest assured, the ISOC strives to make this as easy and beneficial as possible for everyone. We provide iftar everyday in our Prayer Room free of any cost and also host Taraweeh on campus too. There is a great community spirit and despite it being a high pressure time for our studies and ibadah, Ramadan is often the highlight of the year for many of us
